Dear Mr Wilson,
Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) Request
We refer to your information request dated 1 July 2019 for:
The Queenstown Lakes District Council breached its consent limits for various contaminants in
relation to waste water discharge into the Shotover River 175 times between July 2011 and
September 2014.
Can you please supply a detailed summary of the number of consent breaches by the QLDC for
waste water discharge into the Shotover River for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and to date for
2019?
I have consulted with relevant staff and have been provided with the following
information:

different resource consents to discharge treated wastewater to water relating to the
Shotover River Waste Water Treatment Plant.

QLDC no longer hold consent to discharge treated wastewater to water from the
Shotover plant. The “final” consent RM13.215.04 was surrendered earlier this year.
