Thank  you  for  your  Official  Information  Act  1982  (the  Act)  request  received  on  9  August 
2019. You requested: 
" .. .  With the 2016117 engagement [for the National Disaster Resilience Strategy],  these 
would have formed part of any analysis and/or consultation. 
As per the original OIA,  can you please supply information held from that process that 
pertains to animal welfare." 
I  note this response  has been  prepared  separately from the  remainder of your  questions  in 
relation  to  the  National  Disaster  Resilience  Strategy,  which  you  will  be  receiving  in  a 
separate set of responses (OIA-2019/20-0009). 
In  our  search  of  records  we  identified  two  documents  with  information  relevant  to  your 
request.  We have  decided  to  provide  you  an  extract  of  a  document  at  this  point  in  time, 
and  to  provide  context  of  how  it  relates  to  your  request.  Please  let  us  know  if  you  wish 
to receive further detail. 
In  2016,  National  Workshops  were  held  seeking  to  identify  National  Resilience  Strengths, 
Gaps  and Next  Steps.  A  spreadsheet  capturing Workshop feedback  included  the  following 
entry:

The location of 'T' indicates the workshop to have been held in Tauranga. 
Based on our filing for the National Disaster Resilience Strategy,  we have also identified that 
on  3  June  2016,  a  workshop  was  held,  which  records  indic:ate  was  the  'Welfare  Strategy 
Workshop'.  A  spreadsheet  collating  feedback  from  the  workshop  included  a  tab  titled 
'psychosocial'.  In a column titled  'SWAP Approach/What next?',  four of the 29 entries in this 
column  related  to  animals  or  pets.  These  entries  were:  "More  pets",  "More  pets  -  friendly 
animals  everywhere",  "PTSD  dogs",  and  "Pet  Therapy".  None  of  these  entries  appear  to 
relate to the remainder of the document.
