Re: Building Consent revenue
I refer to your email, which we received on 19 August 2019, requesting information about Building Consent revenue.
In relation to your questions, I have liaised with our finance department who have advised that we are unable to
release some of the information prior to the Annual Report being published on 27 September 2019. This is primarily
due to our New Zealand Stock Exchange listing obligations and the due process the council must go through to
prepare its annual report for the financial year ended 30 June 2019.
However, I am able to provide answers to the below information
• Building consents issued 20,955
• LIMS issued 30,734
• There are no discounts applied to consents or LIM’s
We are unable to release the remainder of the questions to you due to Section 7(2)(b)(i )
would be likely
unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or who is the subject of
the information and Section 17(c)(i) Section 17(c)(i) of the Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987
information may not be released if it would be contrary to the provisions of any other
statutory enactment
Once the Annual Report has been published, I can send you through the figures pertaining to your questions.
Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your request, you have the right by way
of complaint, under section 27(3) of the LGOIMA, to apply to the Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review
of the decision.
