Official information request for information related to Creative New Zealand's peer assessors (ref.
249)
I refer to your official information request dated 11 September 2019 for information related to
Creative New Zealand’s peer assessors. Your request has been addressed under the provisions of the
Official Information Act 1982 (herein the Act), which is based on the concept that information held
by government agencies should be made available on request unless there is good reason for
withholding it.
Information within the scope of your request is enclosed as
Appendix 1. You requested:
• the number of assessors
• the age of assessors, by brackets (<18, 19-24, 25-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71+)
• the location of assessors by district
• the number of peer assessors with lived experience of disability
• the number of peer assessors who speak Te Reo, New Zealand Sign Language or have English as
their second language
• the number of peer assessors who are also paid as Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa
staff.

Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa staff are not eligible to be peer assessors for Creative New
Zealand as this would create a conflict of interest in their role with Creative New Zealand.
