Official Information Act 1982 – extension of time limit for response
Thank you for your email of 15 September 2019 requesting the following information under the
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
1. What liability does NZTA and/or does its respective contractors have, to New
Zealand motorists, where Rims/Tyres/Wheel Assemblies are damaged or require
repair (asphalt only)
2. Please provide cost for each year, since 2010, where Financial Liability has been
covered by NZTA
3. What systems do NZTA use to ensure the best possible integrity is maintained
on New Zealand carriageways (asphalt only).
This letter is to advise you that the Transport Agency is extending the 20 working days
available to respond to your request by five working days as allowed for under section 15A of
the Act. A final response will be sent to you on or before 21 October 2019.
This extension is required because of consultations necessary to make a decision on your
request are such that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit.
Under section 28 of the Act you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review
