I refer to your email dated 1 January 2020 requesting the following information under the Official Information Act 
from Canterbury DHB. We also received your request to West Coast DHB on 7 January 2020.  
 
Based on the Official Information Act, Could you please provide me with the following: 
- the total number of PGY 1 house officers positions advertised solely for NZREX graduates (2014 - 2020). 
 
We do not advertise solely for NZREX graduates. We recruit all our PGY 1 House Officers through the 
national Advanced Choice of Employment [ACE] scheme. If a vacancy arises outside our usual ACE 
graduate intake, we would try and source the candidate from the ACE waiting list first before advertising 
externally for PGY 1 House Officers, which would be available for any eligible candidate [including 
NZREX]. 
 
- the total number of all hired medical doctors (2014 - 2020). 
Please break down the data by year (i.e., 2014 = XX, 2015 = XX).
