regarding admissions to Dentistry and Medicine at the University of Otago through the alternative
category.
1. How many people have been accepted in the alternative category for dentistry and medicine at
Otago over the last 5 years?

Note, enrolments for 2020 are still subject to change with students changing course. The 2020
figures will be finalized in April.
2. What is the lowest GPA of those accepted in the alternative category for dentistry and medicine
that do not qualify for a subcategory?
The
Alternative category is designed to create a pathway into Medicine and Dentistry for people
from a diverse range of backgrounds and experience (for instance, they may have allied health
professional experience). Therefore, comparative assessment of a GPA does not feature in the
admission process in the same way it is used in the
First Year Health Sciences and
Graduate categories.
3. What is the lowest GPA of those accepted in the alternative category for dentistry and medicine
that are in the rural subcategory?
