Thank you for your email on 31 January 2020, requesting the fol owing information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the OIA):
1) Assessments of the delivery, outcomes and value to New Zealand of the "Global Impact
Visa" scheme, including the number of visa holders who remain in New Zealand, the number
of enterprises initiated and stil active, and the number (if any) of visa holders denied further
visas.
2) The amount of money paid to private providers and individuals for the delivery of this
scheme, and their identity.
Our response
1) Assessments of the delivery, outcomes and value to New Zealand of the "Global Impact Visa"
scheme, including the number of visa holders who remain in New Zealand, the number of enterprises
initiated and stil active, and the number (if any) of visa holders denied further visas.
I can advise that part of the information you have requested has been released by the Ministry of
Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) as a report titled
Global Impact Visa Evaluation:
Implementation and Early Outcomes Year 1 Report. It is publicly available at the following page:

I can also advise that the next issue, Year 2 report, will soon become available. I am therefore refusing
part of your request under section 18(d) of the OIA on the basis that the information you have
requested will soon be publicly available.
2) The amount of money paid to private providers and individuals for the delivery of this scheme, and
their identity.
I can advise that the Edmund Hillary Fellowship (EHF) is the only entity that has received funding from
Immigration New Zealand for the delivery of the Global Impact Visa Scheme.
Information on the amounts of money paid to EHF will be contained within the Year 2 report. I am
therefore refusing this part of your request under section 18(d) of the OIA on the basis that the
information you have requested will soon be publicly available.
You have the right to contest the decision to withhold information by seeking an investigation and
review of that decision by the Ombudsman. Information about how to make a complaint is available
