Official Information Act request: Fines
Thank you for your email of 5 March 2020 requesting under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act),
information about private organisations imposing fines. You specifical y requested the fol owing:
“I am a member of the New Zealand Kennel inc recently they started to advertise if certain
deadlines were not met there would be a fine. Is a private organisation able to impose a fine?”
Ministerial Relations and Services extended your request on 1 April 2020, advising the due date for our
response would be 3 June 2020.
Your request is being refused under section 18(d) of the Act as the information requested is publicly
available. I would like to offer my sincere apology that this response was not made sooner. This was due
to an administrative oversight in Ministerial Relations and Services.
