Thank you for your email of 08 April 2020, asking for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I would like to know how people can join (express of their interest) the Scheme Customer Advisory
Panels, also how does ACC call for applicant in the past, e.g has the position been listed on job.govt.nz
Further, may I have the job description /term of reference of this Scheme Customer Advisory Panels
and what is their daily rate/pro rata?
Also, I would like to know current member's term of appointment and when it going to expired. Is this
a ministerial appointment or an appointment made by the chief executive of ACC
Joining the Accident Compensation Scheme Customer Advisory Panel
The Accident Compensation Scheme Customer Advisory Panel (the Panel) was established on 1 July
2018, with a duration of 24 months. The Panel is jointly administered by ACC and the Ministry of
Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
Calls for expressions of interest to join the Panel were published through a range of channels in early-to-
mid 2018. These channels included ACC’s and MBIE’s websites, social media sites such as LinkedIn, by
email to a range of organisations and communications through other relevant business and government
networks.
The Panel Terms of Reference
The Terms of Reference for the Panel are publicly available and can be accessed through the ACC
website a

In the Terms of Reference, you will find information on the members duties, remuneration and the
process for appointing panel members. As this information is publicly available, we are not providing it
with this response. This decision is made under section 18(d) of the Act.
A decision on whether the panel wil be extended is stil to be made
It may interest you to note, that all current panel members’ terms of appointment expire of 30 June
2020. The Panel’s Terms of Reference provide that the Panel’s duration may be extended. Both ACC and
MBIE are currently considering whether to extend the Panel’s duration. Information about an extension
and the relevant process for re-appointing members, or appointing new members, wil be published
through the channels listed above.
