I would like to know how you selected College of Assessors for the Fund and how can
people express their interest to join the group of assessors. What is the requirements to
become the assessors. What is the fees for assessors?
Our response:
1. I would like to know how you selected College of Assessors for the Fund and how can people
express their interest to join the group of assessors.
The members of the College of Assessors for the Endeavour Fund are selected according to the
content of the proposals submitted to the Endeavour Fund, and the criteria for assessors outlined in
answer to point 2 below. Individuals interested in joining the College of Assessors can express their
interest by sending their CV and other relevant information t
o [email address].
2. What is the requirements to become the assessors?[sic]
The criteria for the College of Assessors require that in order to assess the excellence of a proposal,
assessors must be Qualified, Meritorious, Current and Connected.
The criteria for the College of Assessors require that in order to assess the impact of a proposal,
assessors must be Knowledgeable, Experienced, Acknowledged in the Relevant Community,
Connected, and either
o have an understanding of the New Zealand and sector-specific context and what science
could be of high-impact to New Zealand, as well as an international perspective, and/ or

o have previously been involved in transformative outcomes eg rapidly changing companies,
start-ups, emerging sectors, entrepreneurship, experience in transformational leadership or
leading change.
3.
What is the fees for assessors?
Payment for the assessment of Endeavour Fund proposals is currently NZ$85-$250 per assessment
depending on the length of the proposal and the role of the assessor (Assessor or Lead Assessor).
