Tania Te Whenua
[FYI request #12669 email]
Dear Ms Te Whenua
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA),
received on 21 April 2020. You requested the fol owing:
Over the past three years:
a) How many Maori women (and what percentage of the total number of applicants)
applied for Tier 2 roles or above?
b) How many Maori women (and what percentage of the total number of successful
applicants) were successful y appointed to the jobs which they applied for at Tier 2
or above?
Your request for this information is refused under section 18(g) of the OIA as Inland
Revenue does not hold this information. Recruitment for Tier 1 is completed by the State
Services Commission, I understand they wil be responding separately to the request.
In the last three years, Inland Revenue has undertaken recruitment for three Tier 2 roles.
Inland Revenue’s recruitment process has a voluntary declaration of ethnicity. Only one
applicant chose to declare their ethnicity, resulting in the ethnicity you did not request
data for.
If you disagree with my decision on your OIA request, you can ask an Inland Revenue
review officer to review my decision. To ask for an internal review, please email the
Commissioner of Inland Revenue at: [email address].
Alternatively, under section 28(3) of the OIA, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman
to investigate and review my decision. You can contact the office of the Ombudsman by
email at: [email address].
Thank you again for your request.
Yours sincerely
Gary Baird
