Thank you for your request for information dated June 12, 2020 regarding the Wainui Highgate Bridge
crossing the SH1 Northern Motorway. We have provided a summary of the project below together
with links where you will find further information.
Wainui/Highgate Bridge
Auckland Transport is currently in the process of applying for resource consents and seeking to acquire
the property required to deliver the proposed bridge crossing the SH1 motorway from Milldale to
Millwater/Highgate Business Park. The location is shown as project 3 below.

The design
The proposed bridge crossing has been designed to provide for walking, cycling and vehicle traffic
(including bus). A plan and cross section are shown below.

The programme
The proposed bridge crossing is planned for completion in late 2021 or early 2022.

Growth Alliance programme to support the next 30 years future urban growth in Auckland. More
