Official Information Act Request 
 
Thank you for your request  of  2 July 2020  to the Ministry of Education for  the following 
information:  
 
•  Are you able to provide all information held by the Ministry of Education relating to the 
instagram account ngati_frybread? 
 
•  Specifically I would like all advice, emails, records of meetings, records of phone calls, 
texts and any other information in what ever [sic] form it may be relating to the Ministry of 
Education's decision to contact the owner of the instagram account ngati_frybread 
regarding the use of the Ministry of Education's logo and admission that there is systemic 
racism in the New Zealand Education system. 
 
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).  
 
I am providing you with two emails that detail communications around the decision to contact 
the owner of the Instagram account,  ngati_frybread, regarding the use of the Ministry’s 
copyright material. The emails are released in part with information withheld under section 
9(2)(a) of the Act, to protect the privacy of natural persons.
