Tēnā koe John
Thank you for your request, received on 21 July 2020, for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I noted careers.govt.nz is under your administration.
May I kindly request the organizational chart for the careers.govt.nz
Please provide a list of salary band for all the positions within the careers.govt.nz, listed
by business group, and for each please provide the full position title, and the associated
remuneration and an indication of whether the position is filled by a permanent
employee or a contractor/consultant or other. I am comfortable if you wish to provide
the remuneration information in salary bands or ranges or similar, provided they are not
too large. I note that SSC uses ranges of $10,000 when identifying chief executive
remuneration which would be an acceptable range for my request.
The Tertiary Education Commission’s (TEC) Ministerial Team wrote to you on 23 July 2020 advising
that your original request would need to be clarified or amended for the TEC to be able to respond,
as careers.govt.nz is a website is administrated by TEC and does not have dedicated employees
assigned to the careers website.
As we have not heard back from you, I am refusing your request under sections 18(e) that the
document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist or, despite reasonable efforts
to locate it, cannot be found.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or
freephone 0800 802 602.
The TEC intends to publish its response to this request on our website with your personal details
removed. Consistent with the Act, we are publishing responses in the interests of transparency and
accountability, and to improve access to official information.
Nāku noa, nā
Tim Fowler
