Spraggs Bush Track
Thank you for your email which we received on 4 August in which you asked -
How much has Auckland Council spent upgrading Spraggs Bush tracks to the 31st of July 2020
including the cost of disposing of the old boardwalks? and how much was original y budgeted
for this work?
The cost of the construction contract for the upgrade of the Spraggs Bush Track was $397,933. As we
have previously advised, budgets are determined based on the estimated work required in each
location. This is not strictly allocated on a per track basis, as the actual costs for track upgrades are not
finalised until the procurement process is completed.
Following our initial scoping of this track and based on average unit costs being charged for the various
track methodologies to be used, we had expected the construction costs to be around $372,000. This
did not take into account some additional work that was included after the initial scope was completed.
Please note the above does not include the helicopter services associated with the flying in and out of
materials which was not included in the construction contract. Helicopter costs were $45,210.
