Information Request – Disclosure Numbers and Settlement costings
I refer to your official information request dated 19 August 2020 asking:
I would like to request the number of disclosures that have been signed following
settlements, the cost of all settlements and all cost for the investigations also including full
cost from start to finish
On 24 August 2020, we wrote to you seeking to clarify your request, but we haven’t had a
response yet. It would be great to have the opportunity to discuss the scope of your request with
you, so we can understand what specific information you seek and then we can provide this to
you.
Under section 12(2) of the Official Information Act 1982, a request needs to be specified with due
particularity in the request. As I’ve noted above, we need further details from you to understand
the scope of your request so we can determine what information we can provide. Until we hear
back from you, we are unable to proceed with your official information request, but we would
welcome the opportunity to discuss the scope of your request with you, and you can email
[FENZ request email] to arrange this.
We are currently collating summary information about Fire and Emergency’s investigations into
bullying, harassment, assault and complaints of a similar nature, since 1 July 2017. Please let us
know if this information is of interest to you and we will share it with you when the work is
completed.
The OIA team is keen to hear from you on the scope of the request, as above, and will then make
sure to respond promptly to this.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
