Dear Ms Pond 
I refer to the three Official Information Act requests you made to the Department of 
Conservation on 22 August 2020. 
This letter is to advise you that we are extending the 20 working day period to 
respond to those requests, as allowed under section 15A(1) of the Official Information 
Act 1982. We require an additional 30 working days and will send you a response to 
each by no later than 30 October 2020. We will of course endeavour to provide any 
response earlier if at all possible. 
 
This extension of time is necessary as the consultations required to make a decision 
on these requests, mean that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within 
the original time limit. 
 
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act to make a 
complaint to an Ombudsman about the extension.
