Thank you for your email of 19 October 2020, asking for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I kindly request all information you hold about the victim(s), the costs to ACC, and any other
information you hold in relation to the alleged sexual harassment crimes committed by Hongkon
Kim, Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Wellington.
Our response
ACC does not release personal information or information that may identify clients. As the information
requested relates directly to ACC client(s) and may identify the client(s) or infringe upon their privacy,
we are refusing your request for information.
Our decision to refuse your request is made under section 9(2)(a) of the Act, which allows agencies to
withhold information to protect the privacy of individuals. We consider that withholding this
information is not outweighed by the public interest in making it available.
