Tēnā koe Felix Lee
I refer to your email of 14 December 2020 in which you request the following under the Official
Information Act 1982 (OIA):
I have a question regarding New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office [NZCIO]
and
Triple Stimulus Vouchers offered by Taiwan to diplomats.
For the New Zealand government employees seconded to that office, did any of them
collect these vouchers?
Do you have information on if staff directly employed by NZCIO collected these
vouchers?
Taiwan’s “triple stimulus voucher program”
was introduced on 1 July 2020 as a means of
stimulating local expenditure to support Taiwan’s economic recovery from COVID-19. On
16 November 2020, the scheme was expanded to foreign nationals working in Taipei.
Some eligible staff from the New Zealand Commerce and Industry office in Taipei have
purchased Triple Stimulus vouchers.
You have the right under section 28(3) of the OIA to seek a review of this response by the
Ombudsman.
Nāku noa, nā
