Request for information under the Official Information Act 
 
Thank  you  for  your  follow-up  email  dated  12  January  2021  to  the  New  Zealand  Customs 
Service (Customs) via the FYI website, in which you request the following under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
“Thank you for that information. I note that while this information contains statistics of 
passenger  arrivals  by  New  Zealand  port,  it  does  not  include  statistics  by  origin 
airport. Are you able to please provide this?” 
 
On  12  January  2021,  we  advised  you  that  Customs  does  not  hold  statistics  for  the  origin 
airport, only for the last port of arrival, which you advised was sufficient information. 
 
In response, please find attached a spreadsheet titled ‘Arriving air passengers by overseas 
port’ which contains arriving passengers to New Zealand by last port from 1 January 2020 to 
31 December 2020. 
 
Please note that Customs proactively releases responses to Official Information Act requests 
on our website. As such, we may publish this response on our website after we have sent it
