[FYI request #14397 email]
Dear Sharna
Thank you for your Official Information Act request, received on 4 January 2021. You
requested:
I will be grateful if you would confirm the following:
1. The Name and contact details of your Data Controller.
2. Who is your Security Trustee.
3. Who are the beneficiaries of the accounts you hold.
I am refusing your request for information under section 18(e) of the Official Information
Act – the information requested does not exist.
The Treasury does not employ a Data Controller. The Treasury collects limited
personal information from all applicants during recruitment, for the purposes of
demographic reporting. This information is used to monitor and evaluate the
effectiveness of our recruitment process in attracting diverse candidates and is only
available in reports that are not linked to specific applications. We also collect limited
personal data through our onboarding processes, which forms part of employees’
personnel files. This information is collected for the purposes of organisational
reporting, maintaining personal information and emergency contact requirements, and
to enable the Treasury to pay employees (i.e. bank details).
The Treasury does not employ a Security Trustee.
The Treasury does not administer any bank accounts where staff are beneficiaries.
Payments are only made to staff members’ bank accounts for payroll or expense
reimbursements.
In making my decision, I have considered the public interest considerations in section
9(1) of the Official Information Act.

Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision.
