OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST
I refer to your official information request of Friday 22 January 2021 for:
documentation that outlines any Ministry for Women funding to Pacific focused social services
organisations including those associated with Pacific churches and Pacific churches themselves for
the years 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 (if available); and
documentation that outlines any Ministry for Women funding to organisations that respond to family
violence and sexual violence for the above time frame.
I have interpreted the scope of your request to include any official information regarding funding awarded
by the Manatū Wāhine Ministry for Women to any Pacific-focused social services organisations, or to any
organisations that respond to family and/or sexual violence from 2018 to the date of your request.
One document is in scope of your request. This document is available on the Ministry’s website at:
www.women.govt.nz/sites/public_files/COVID-19%20Community%20Fund%20recipients_0.pdf.
As a policy agency, the Ministry does not often fund direct delivery of services. More operational agencies,
such as the Department of Internal Affairs, would be more likely to provide this type of funding to
community or non-profit organisations. If you have not already done so, you may wish to contact Internal
Affairs.
