Request for information under the Official Information Act 
 
Thank you for your follow-up email dated 9 June 2021, to the New Zealand Customs Service 
(Customs)  via  the  FYI  website,  in  which  you  request  the  following  information  under  the 
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
“I would like to have the visa information for arriving passengers.” 
 
Previous  correspondence  Customs  has  had  with  you  in  February  2021  and  March  2021 
asked what type of visa information you were after and advised you that visa information is 
only available for arriving passengers and not departing passengers. 
 
In  response  to  your  request,  please  find  attached  a  spreadsheet  titled  ‘Passenger 
movements by month, visa type and nationality’ which contains arriving passenger numbers 
to New Zealand by nationality (passport) and visa type from 1 March 2020 to 30 April 2021. 
We have also added in departure information as this is what you had originally requested in 
February 2021. 
 
Please note that Customs proactively releases responses to Official Information Act requests 
on our website. As such, we may publish this response on our website after we have sent it
