Dear Sleepless,
Response to your request for official information
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of
Health (the Ministry) on 11 March 2021:
“Please provide a complete list of the vessels granted an exemption to enter New Zealand
under the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Maritime Border) Order 2020 where the
exemption has been granted for the purpose of delivering the vessel to a business.”
A list of vessels granted permission by the Director-General of Health to enter New Zealand
under the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Maritime Border) Order 2020 is outlined in Table
One. Please note, the two columns reflect changes made to the legislative framework when the
COVID-19 Public Health Response (Maritime Border) Order (No 2) 2020 came in to force on 6
September 2020. Under the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Maritime Border) Order 2020
permissions for delivery to a business included vessels arriving to undertake refit and repair
works. Under the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Maritime Border) Order (No 2) 2020
these two purposes are separated.
I trust this information fulfils your request. Under section 28(3) of the Act you have the right to
ask the Ombudsman to review any decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may
be contacted by email a
t: [email address] or by calling 0800 802 602.
Please note that this response, with your personal details removed, may be published on the
Ministry website at:
