Thank you for your request of 12 April 2021 requesting the fol owing under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
“I would like to request a copy of, or access to, the latest edition of the heat plant
database preferably in spreadsheet format.
Additional y, if not already included in this database, I would like to request the most up
to date records/list/spreadsheet of state sector buildings (including schools, hospitals,
universities, NZDF buildings, etc.) with coal, gas, diesel, LPG, wood-chip/biomass-fired
boilers broken down by organisation name, organisation type (eg. school, hospital...),
location, boiler fuel-type.”
The requested database contains information provided as commercial in confidence (and
covered by information sharing agreements) therefore this information is withheld on the
fol owing grounds:
9(2)(ba)(i)
to protect information which where release would be likely to prejudice the
supply of similar information
9(2)(b)(i)
to protect information where the information available would unreasonably
prejudice the commercial position of the subject of the information.

In terms of section 9(1) of the Act, I am satisfied that, in the circumstances, the decision to
withhold information is not outweighed by other considerations that render it desirable to make
the information available in the public interest.
