Mr Green
[FYI request #15239 email]
Dear Mr Green
Thank you for your email of 21 April 2021 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE)
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information:
“… a breakdown of all MBIE staff by age group and gender. Ie. how many
women vs men are in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, or 60+.”
Our response to your request is outlined in the table below, and reflects data as at 31 March 2021.
Please note that this is based on our headcount, which is a mixture of permanent and fixed term onshore
employees. Casual employees, contractors, locally engaged offshore staff and employees on extended
unpaid leave are excluded from the data.
Please also note that the ‘Unknown’ column for gender consists of staff who preferred not to state their
gender, and staff who selected ‘other’ at the point of information collection. Similarly, the ‘Unknown’ row
for age is the result of age not being mandatory to declare.
