FOR EMTRICITABINE WITH TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL ONLY
Thank you for your request dated 25 May 2021 under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA)
for information relating to Special Authority applications for emtricitabine with tenofovir
disoproxil only. You requested:
The number of approved Special Authority applications (both initial and renewal
applications) of emtricitabine with tenofovir disoproxil for the use of pre-exposure
prophylaxis (PrEP), for any recent time frame... eg 2020. In particular:
at a national level
in the Wellington (CCDHB) region
Please find the information requested provided within the tables below. Please note, these
numbers represent the number of approved applications each month, not the number of
people being dispensed the medicine each month.
Additionally, we have provided a copy of the source data used to generate these tables. The
source data includes a monthly breakdown by DHB of all initial and renewal applications
approved in the calendar years 2019 and 2020.
