Thank you for your email of 10 May 2021 to the Ministry of Education requesting the
following information regarding the Chief Executive position at Universities New Zealand:
1) Was the [Chief Executive] job publicly advertised (or was it supplied to an
individual by invitation)? If it was publicly advertised, where was it publicly
advertised?
2) What is the job description associated with the role? The job description
provided to applicants and if there have been substantive changes to that one
such that the present job description is substantively different.
3) What is the pay associated with the position? I am interested to know the starting
salary of the present occupant of that role and how much is associated with the
role now, in 2021.
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
We have made enquiries with the relevant Business Units and have determined that the
information you have requested is more closely connected with the functions of Universities
New Zealand. I have therefore transferred your request to Universities New Zealand in
accordance with section 14 of the Act.
You may expect a response from Universities New Zealand directly concerning your request.
Thank you again for your email. You have the right to ask an Ombudsman to review this
decision. You can do this by writing to
