Thank you for your email of 17 May 2021, requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the OIA):
1:-Total Count of unallocated EOIs currently in the Parents residency visa pool. If you can
provide the count of persons that wil be great too as 1 EOI can have more than 1 applicant.
2. Can I get a count of unallocated EOIs in the pool (and person count) based on their year
and month of submission that were submitted prior to 15 September 2018 ? Please exclude
the EOIs which have been withdrawn.
Please provide the response in the table format with count of EOIs submitted per month as
done in this OIA

3. Today,NZ Government declared changes to Skil ed migrant visa . Please tel when the EOI
selection wil be open for parents visa or any other update.
Our response
1:-Total Count of unallocated EOIs currently in the Parents residency visa pool. If you can provide the
count of persons that wil be great too as 1 EOI can have more than 1 applicant.
As at 29 May 2021 there were a total of 5,415 Parent Residence Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in the
pool. These EOIs have a total person count of 8,562 people.
2. Can I get a count of unallocated EOIs in the pool (and person count) based on their year and month
of submission that were submitted prior to 15 September 2018 ? Please exclude the EOIs which have
been withdrawn. Please provide the response in the table format with count of EOIs submitted per
month as done in this OIA –

As at 29 May 2021 there were 3,616 EOIs that were accepted by Immigration New Zealand (INZ) before
15 September 2018. These EOIs have a total person count of 5,939 people. The table below provides
a breakdown of these EOIs by the month they were accepted by INZ.

3. Today,NZ Government declared changes to Skil ed migrant visa . Please tel when the EOI selection
wil be open for parents visa or any other update.
This is not a request for official information, however we can advise that from 1 April 2020 the
selection of Expressions of Interest (EOI) for residence under the Parent Category were deferred until
later notice. The deferral is a temporary measure that allows INZ to focus on processing applications
from people who are in New Zealand or those eligible to travel here while border restrictions are in
place. INZ will continue to reassess when EOI selections can take place as the COVID-19 situation
develops. The best place to find updated information on the EOI selections is the INZ website, which
is being updated regularly as decision are made:
