Official Information Act request
Thank you for your information request dated
27 May 2021.
You asked for the following
information:
“I am studying the productivity of tier 1 and 2 officials in various Departments and
Ministries on Fridays in December during the lead up to Christmas 2020.
Can I please have the diaries or details of meetings, events or activities held off-site
for all your tier 1 and 2 officials on each Friday in December 2020. This should
exclude if the official was on annual, sick or other approved leave that day, and they
did not partake in any meetings, events or activities that involved other staff or
Departmental/Ministry resources on that leave day.
Details can be as brief as the subject, date, time, and location.”
Your request has been considered in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act).
In the three Fridays in December 2020 covered by the information request, the six
managers at tier 1 and tier 2 level at Te Puni Kōkiri undertook their usual full range of
departmental work, such as preparing advice for Ministers, policy analysis, people
management, engagement with our regionally based teams and planning. On 4, 11 and
18 December 2020, managers at tier 1 and tier 2 at Te Puni Kōkiri attended approximately
50 appointments, of which six were the external engagements covered by the information
request and which are detailed in the Appendix. Please see
Appendix for a table detailing
any off-site meetings, events or activities attended by tier 1 and 2 Te Puni Kōkiri officials
on 4, 11 and 18 December 2020.
I trust my response satisfies your request.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
