Thank you for your email of 30 May 2021 to the NZ Police requesting information about Liberate the lane event 
correspondence under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). Your request was transferred partially to Waka 
Kotahi NZ Transport Agency on 31 May 2021. You have requested:  
 
…correspondence by email or text addressed to…Waka Kotahi…regarding Bike Auckland's Liberate the 
Lane rally at Pt Erin on Sunday 30 May and information regarding plans to ride across the bridge as part 
of the protest? 
 
On 2 June 2021, you clarified your request that you would like to receive external correspondence received and 
sent by Waka Kotahi regarding the Liberate Lane event on 30 May 2021. 
 
Please find attached, a copy of the correspondence received from members of the public and sent by Waka 
Kotahi regarding the Liberate the Lane event. 
 
Certain information has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act. This section allows for the withholding of 
information to protect the privacy of the natural persons.  
 
With respect to the information that has been withheld, I do not consider there are any other factors which would 
render it desirable, in the public interest, to make the information available. 
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to withhold this
