Thank you for your Official Information Act (Act) request received by the Department of Internal
Affairs (Department) on 3 June 2021.
You requested –
All documents, assessment notes and information relating to any application for funding
for St Gerard's Church in Wellington
On Friday 3 July 2021 I provided you with a partial response to your request. Now that the
appropriate consultation has taken place, I am able to provide you with the additional
documentation that falls within the scope of your request.
Supporting documents
The documents I am providing you today, were submitted as part of the 2017 application for
funding made by the Institute of World Evangelism. As advised in my last response, that grant
was made under the Lottery Environment and Heritage Fund for a second engineering
assessment to ascertain the seismic strength of St Gerard’s Church in Wellington.
Attached you will find the following documentation:

8. Budget
There were also some additional assessment emails that we have included in the attached
documentation, attachments 9,10 and 11.
Certain information has been withheld from these emails in reliance on the following sections of
the Act
9(2)(a) – to protect the privacy of natural persons including that of a deceased natural
person
9(2)(h) – to maintain legal profession privilege (legal opinion that was attached in
document 9)
