Mrs Nguyen
[FYI request #15722 email]
Dear Mrs Nguyen,
I refer to your email of 9 June 2021 to the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment
(MBIE), requesting the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
What advice has the government received about the impact on the fuel market in New
Zealand with the potential closure of the Marsden Point oil refinery, can you please
provide copies of any consultants reports commissioned and copies of all email
communications and meeting minutes or transcripts between stakeholders and
government officials in relation to the potential closure.
I am writing to notify you that I am extending the timeframe for responding to your request
under section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, as consultations necessary to make a decision on your
request are such that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit.
We will now respond to your request on or before 4 August 2021, which is an extension of 20
working days.
You have the right to seek investigation and review of my decision by the Ombudsman, in
accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The relevant details can be found at:
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
Yours sincerely
