Dear Mr Kirkpatrick
Official Information Act request: Kahukura rehabilitation programme
Thank you for your email of 12 July 2021, requesting under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act)
information about the Kahukura rehabilitation programme. Specifically, you requested:
•
Correspondences between the Panel and its members with the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime
Minister, and the Minister of Justice in relation to funding for the Kahukura rehabilitation
programme?
•
Correspondences between the Mongrel Mob, its associates, members and/or spokespeople, as
well as the agency eligible to apply for the funding to the relevant people responsible for making
decisions on the Proceeds of Crime funding in relation to the Kahukura rehabilitation programme.
Due to the need to consider and collate a potentially significant amount of information, a response
cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. Accordingly, I am extending the time limit for
response to this request by 20 working days under section 15A of the Act and will respond to you by 6
September.
You have the right under section 28(3) of the Act to complain to the Ombudsman about the decision to
extend the time for responding to your request. The Ombudsman may be contacted by emailing
[email address].
Yours sincerely
Jan Morison
