Thank you for your online request dated 14 April 2014 for the following information:
1. What is the CCDHB funding to Wellington Free Ambulance Group (Wellington Free
Ambulance Service Inc, Wellington Free Ambulance Trust, WRA Alarms Ltd CECL) for
the years (year ending) 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 (if possible)?
2. Was this funding to Wellington Free Ambulance paid in bulk funding, contract or was a
portion paid for special projects? If there were special projects, what was each of the
special projects and what was the funding for each of these for each of the seven years?
3. How and when is the funding from CCDHB paid to Wellington Free Ambulance Group
(monthly, six monthly, yearly etc)? Is CCDHB funding a prepayment of an accrual?

The Capital & Coast District Health Board (
CCDHB) currently hold two Service Agreements
with Wellington Free Ambulance; Non-Emergency Patient Transport and Urgent Community
Care Pilot. The funding for each of these Agreements for the last seven years is listed in the
table below.

2. Was this funding to Wellington Free Ambulance paid in bulk funding, contract or was a

All funding to Wellington Free Ambulance has been paid for services delivered - non
emergency patient transport and Urgent and Community Care services.
3. How and when is the funding from CCDHB paid to Wellington Free Ambulance Group
(monthly, six monthly, yearly etc)? Is CCDHB funding a prepayment of an accrual?
Payments are generally made on a monthly basis and in arrears. That is, payments are
made 20th month following month of service except for period 1 February 2013 to 30 June
2014 for the Urgent and Community Care services. For this period two payments will be
made, one in June and one in July 2014 ($116,666.40 and $29,166.40 respectively).
You have a right to seek a review, under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act, by way
of a complaint to the Ombudsman.
