Official information request for Have your Say survey results
I refer to your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act)
dated 2 August 2021:
the compiled results of the most recent Have Your Say survey
As the survey has not yet closed, there are no compiled results of the Survey currently in
existence. Under the Official Information Act you are only able to request information
that the University holds. At the time you made your request the University did not hold
the information you requested. Therefore your request is refused in accordance with
Section 18(g) of the Act as the information is not held.
Once the results have been analysed the University will release an executive summary
that will be available publicly at
https://www.wgtn.ac.nz/students/get-involved/have-
your-say/student-experience. We expect this summary will be available in early
November.
I note that respondents to the survey are advised that their responses will be treated
confidentially. Therefore it is likely that future requests for individual responses to the
survey would be withheld in accordance with Section 9(2)(b)(a) of the Act in order to
protect information which is subject to an obligation of confidence and the making
available of the information would be likely to prejudice the supply of similar
information, or information from the same source, and it is in the public interest that
such information should continue to be supplied.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
If you wish to discuss this decision with us, please feel free to contact me at
