Extension of your request:
Thank you for your email of 3 August 2021, to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (the
Ministry) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982, the fol owing information:
Could I please ask for the following statistics relating to MIQ vouchers for arrival dates 01 January
2021 to 01 August 2021:
1. Total number of MIQ vouchers issued
2. Total number of MIQ vouchers presented or used (rooms were occupied)
On 20 August 2021, you revised your above request to the fol owing:
1. The total number of rooms booked using MIQ vouchers
2. The total number of rooms occupied (excluding those used by emergency voucher holders)
Due to the current Covid-19 alert level, the Ministry is currently focused on assisting with the pandemic
response, as such, an extension is necessary to complete consultations with all relevant parties.
Additionally, Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) subject matter experts are prioritising work related to
the Government’s response to this community outbreak who we rely upon for data, files, and information
related to requests.
I am writing to advise you that the Ministry will provide a response but needs to extend the time available to
answer your request. The Ministry’s response will be with you no later than 27 September 2021. We will
respond to you sooner if we are able to.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about
