Thank you for your request of 25 August 2021, asking for the following information under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
Gross number of claims, by year, for both Rock Climbing and Cycling in the last 5 years. The specific 
information i would like is the following: 
a.  Number of claims for each activity 
b.  Cost per claim for each activity 
c.  Average age of claimants for each activity 
d.  Average cost of claim by age for each activity 
 
The information requested is attached 
Rock climbing injuries have been identified where the accident description contains a mention of 'Rock 
climb', or 'climbing wall'. Cycling injuries have been identified where either the external agency, sport or 
road agency is 'Cycling' or a 'Vehicle - cycle'.
