Request made under the Official Information Act 1982
Thank you for your email
of 27 August 2021 requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act), as refined on 9 September 2021:
[1) Can I have a copy of any and all farebox recovery ratios received from Auckland Transport that
shows the annual farebox recovery ratios for individual PTOM units services they provide (including
the estimated future farebox recovery ratios for units if provided to the NZTA)?
2) Can I please have a copy of communications between NZTA/Waka Kotahi and Auckland
Transport on the subject of their PTOM Unit Commerciality Ratios including whether they have or
have not published this information.
3) Can I have a copy of any and all farebox recovery ratios received from Greater Wellington
Regional Council that shows the annual farebox recovery ratios for individual PTOM units services
they provide (including the estimated future farebox recovery ratios for units if provided to the
NZTA)?
4) Can I please have a copy of communications between NZTA/Waka Kotahi and Greater
Wellington Regional Council on the subject of their PTOM Unit Commerciality Ratios including
whether they have or have not published this information.
5) Can I have a copy of any and all farebox recovery ratios received from Environment Canterbury
that shows the annual farebox recovery for individual PTOM units services they provide (including
the estimated future farebox recovery ratios for units if provided to the NZTA)?
6) Can I please have a copy of communications between NZTA/Waka Kotahi and Environment
Canterbury on the subject of their PTOM Unit Commerciality Ratios including whether they have or
have not published this information.
Queries 1, 3 and 5
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has not received, or requested, farebox recovery ratios for the
Auckland Transport (AT), Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC), or Environment Canterbury
(ECAN) public transport networks. I am therefore refusing your request under section 18(g) of the Act,
as the information is not held by Waka Kotahi.
I note that you have previously submitted requests to AT, GWRC and ECAN for which this information
would be in scope. As such, I considered it unnecessary to transfer your requests to the respective
organisations.
Queries 2, 4 and 6
Waka Kotahi has not communicated specifically with AT, GWRC or ECAN on the subject of their
PTOM Unit Commerciality Ratios, including whether they have or have not published this information. I
am therefore refusing these parts of your request under section 18(e) of the Act, as the information
requested does not exist.
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to refuse
