On 15 October 2021, the Office of the Prime Minister transferred your request for the
following information to New Zealand Police for response:

Prosecutions as a result of the exposure events where it was not compliant with
level 4.
There is no specific offence in relation to 'exposure events'.
For the purposes of this response, I have considered all offences that relate to the
COVID-19 Public Health Response Act 2020 (and underlying Orders) and an offence in
Health Act 1956 Section 72(a) (Obstruct/Hinder Medical Officer of Health or Person
Assisting Medical Officer).
New Zealand was at Alert Level 4 between 18 August and 31 August 2021. Northland
was at Alert Level 4 between 18 August and 2 September 2021, Auckland (Police
districts Auckland City, Counties Manukau, and Waitematā) was at Alert Level 4 between
18 August and 7 September 2021.
In relation to the dates and locations where Alert Level 4 was operating, Police has filed
221 prosecution charges.
