Official Information Act request relating to the Prime Minister’s computer fault 
 
Thank  you  for  your  request  made  under  the  Official  Information  Act  1982  (the  Act), 
received on 20 September 2021. You requested: 
Please  supply  the  actual  indicated  fault,  and  the  resolution  for  The  Prime 
Minister’s computer that froze On the afternoon of 20/9/2021 
Microsoft log files please. 
If the Solution was simply switching off and on again at what time did that occur. 
 
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet does not hold information relating to 
your  request.  I  believe  that  such  information  is  held  by  the  Prime  Minister,  Rt  Hon 
Jacinda Ardern. Accordingly, I have decided under section 14(b)(i) of the Act to transfer 
your request to Prime Minister’s Office. 
 
The Prime Minister’s Office has the usual timeframes under the Act from receipt of this 
transfer to make a decision on your request.
