Response to your request for official information
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of
Health (the Ministry) on 24 September 2021 for information relating to vaccinations. Please find
a response to each part of your request below.
“…a table that states the total number of deaths reported due to a vaccine in the NZ
Immunization schedule from Jan 1st 2011 to Dec 31st 2020 separated by year.”
The number of deaths reported due to a vaccine in the New Zealand immunisation schedule
can be found on the Medsafe website at:
www.medsafe.govt.nz/publications/OIA/19Sept19ADRReportsWithDeath.pdf. Therefore, this
part of your request is refused under section 18(d) of the Act as the information is already
publicly available.
“…the figures on total number of doses of vaccines on the NZ immunization schedule
were given from Jan 1st 2011 to Dec 31st 2020 separated by year.”
One document has been found to be within scope of your request (copy attached). Document
one provides the number of childhood immunisation events between 2009 and 2020.
