INFORMATION REQUEST – Engagement Survey and Staff Numbers
We write in response to your email dated 28 September 2021 in which you requested the
following information:
· Results of your latest staff morale / engagement / satisfaction survey with results
broken down to at least “tier two” level
· The number of staff “full time equivalents” by month since January 2018
We have considered your request in accordance with the Local Government Official
Information and Meetings Act 1987 (“LGOIMA”) and respond as follows:
The number of staff “full time equivalents” by month since January 2018
The number of full time equivalent (FTE) permanent and fixed-term employees for
the period January 2018 through to September 2021 is included in the table below.

Results of your latest staff morale / engagement / satisfaction survey with results
broken down to at least “tier two” level

Tauranga City Council’s most recent all staff engagement survey was carried out on
30 June 2020. We attach the results from this engagement survey, including results
specific to each tier two business group. Verbatim comments have been withheld
under section 7(2)(c)(i) of the LGOIMA to protect information which is subject to an
obligation of confidence.

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
