Thank you for your emails dated 1 October 2021 requesting:   
•  Please provide me with an excel spreadsheet of every scheduled parole hearing between 17 
August 2021 and today’s date and whether these hearings were held on their scheduled 
date. If not, please advise of the rescheduled date. I do not require the name of prisoners in 
this information. 
 
•  How many scheduled parole hearings have been delayed due to the Level 3 and 4 
lockdowns? 
 
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). 
From 17 August to 4 October there were 1,084 hearings and only 43 of those were adjourned.   
Of those 43 adjournments only two were directly related to COVID-19.   These are highlighted in 
Appendix A. In one case the offender was taking part in the vaccination programme while in the 
other case the offender was in a unit that could not facilitate a phone call. 
The reasons for the rest of the adjournments included but were not limited to requests for legal 
representation, requests for psychological reports, information required on accommodation options, 
reintegration hui and requests by offenders for the hearing to be stood down. 
A break-down of the hearings, their original and rescheduled dates is included in Appendix A.
