Dear Chuck
Response to your request for official information Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) on 10 January
2022 for:
“Please provide all reporting/trial data information that supported Pfizers application
that enabled them to meet their obligations
- Are you able to confirm if the Minister has received the following report 5.3.6
CUMULATIVE ANALYSIS OF POST-AUTHORIZATION ADVERSE EVENT
REPORTS OF PF-07302048 (BNT162B2) RECEIVED THROUGH 28-FEB-2021
- Has he read it?
- Does this information directly contradict any of the safety information that was
provided in support of the further material Pfizer provided.”
As a Minister, I do not hold reporting or trial data information that supported Pfizer’s application
to Medsafe for its COVID-19 Comirnaty vaccine, nor have I seen the report you have
referenced in your request. While I considered transferring your request under section 14 of
the Act to Ministry for response, I am advised that on 21 January 2022, the Ministry provided
you with a response to similar questions about this report, that included reference to a
comprehensive response on the same subject published on its website. Your request is
therefore refused in part under section 18(g) on the grounds that the information is not held
by me, and in part under section 18(d) on the grounds that information that responds to your
questions has already been provided to you or is publicly available.
Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review any
decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be contacted by email at:
[email address] or by calling 0800 802 602.
Yours sincerely
Chris Hipkins
Minister for COVID-19 Response
