Re: Auckland Unlimited Organisation Chart
Thank you for your email of 18 October 2021 where you asked for an organisation chart for
Auckland Unlimited. Your specific request and our response are set out below.
Your request.
I would like to understand based on your Auckland Unlimited Org Chart, are there any
position that are currently vacant and how long it has been vacant for? If there are, may I
have the job title and the relevant job description/salary band. Also are there any future
opening in 2022, in particular the job based offshore, and the relevant job description/salary
band. Also please kindly provide an update org chart of Auckland Unlimited.
Our response:
On the 1 December 2020 Auckland Unlimited was formed through a merger of Auckland
Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) and Regional Facilities Auckland
(RFA). As a result of the merger Auckland Unlimited has more than 1,200 employees.
Given the substantive size of the newly formed Auckland Unlimited, and the fact the new
organisation’s structure is stil being developed, the information you have requested is
refused under various provisions of Section 17 of the LGOIMA. An agency is not able to
create information per se, however we do have an obligation, if we hold it, to provide
information in a readable or accessible form however, in this instance we do not hold the
information in a form that can be provided as part of a LGOIMA response. To respond to
your request in the format you have sought, would require us to expend considerable time
and resource on researching and collating the information required. This would have a
significant impact on our staff’s ability to carry out their other day to day functions and would
put undue strain on resources within various departments.

The following part of your request is refused under Section 17 (f) of the Local Government
Of icial Information and Meetings Act 1987 as the request cannot be granted without
substantial collation:
• List of positions that are currently vacant, how long they have been vacant for,
including job title, job description/ salary band
The following parts of your request are refused under Section 17 (g) of the Local
Government Of icial Information and Meetings Act 1987 as the information is not currently
held:
• a full organisation chart in a form that can be provided as part of a LGOIMA response
• vacancies for 2022 in particular jobs based offshore, the impact of Covid-19 and
restructuring due to the merger means that any vacancies next year cannot
reasonably be predicted.
