Dear James
We refer to your information request dated 24 October 2021 made under the Official Information
Act 1982 (the Act). You have requested information regarding LAWS101 and the number of students
who have applied for second year Law for 2022.
Please find our responses to each of your questions below.
Grade breakdown for the 2020 LAWS101 paper
Please find below a table of the grade breakdown for the 2020 LAWS101 paper.
For privacy reasons, the University’s standard practice is not to report on marks which relate to less
than 5 students. Where the numbers are very low there is a risk that the identity of these students
could be determined/inferred, and that their personal information (i.e. their marks) could be
revealed. We therefore withhold this information pursuant to section 9(2)(a) of the Act.
Accordingly, where the grade is Fail D, Fail E or Fail, if there are less than 5 students we have
indicated this using <5.
