Official Information Act request 21.70 Flexible Working Arrangements  
I refer to the Official Information Act (the Act) request dated  Month 2021 for information relating to Flexible 
Work Arrangements. You have specifically requested: 
•  the number of FWA applications for the period 2019-2021 
•  the number of applications approved 
•  the number of applications declined 
 
After seeking further clarification from you on 16 November 2021, you clarified on 18 November: 
•  I am particularly interested in the fol owing units: Future Learning and Development, Student 
Success, Pacific Development, and People & Culture.  
The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the 
day we received your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are 
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision, to Tuesday 7 December 2021.  
This extension is needed as consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a proper 
response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. Specifical y, consultation is required with 
each of the four named units to determine how the requested information is stored in each one.  
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about 
how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
