OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST 21.70 Flexible Working Arrangements
I refer to the Official Information Act (the Act) request dated 27 October 2021 for information relating to
Flexible Working Arrangements. You have requested the fol owing:

the number of FWA applications for the period 2019-2021
•
the number of applications approved
•
the number of applications declined
After seeking further clarification from you on 16 November 2021, you clarified on 18 November:

I am particularly interested in the fol owing units: Future Learning and Development, Student Success,
Pacific Development, and People & Culture.
The Future Learning and Development team have advised that there have been eight FWA applications from
2019 -2021, with eight being approved and zero being declined.
The Student Success team advised that they had not had any FWA applications from 2019 -2021. Ad hoc one -
off arrangements (i.e. working at home before or after an appointment) are negotiated verbal y and on a case-
by-case basis.
The Pacific Development team advise that due to their teams requirements, which can include working outside
of standard business hours, their team negotiates working arrangements on an event/ case-by-case basis.
The People and Culture team advised that they have had two FWA applications from 2019 -2021, with both
being approved and none being declined. Staff are encouraged to talk to their line manager to make informal/
ad hoc requests for changes before making a formal FWA application.
